PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KATIE DINNEBIER, DRAKE

Drake’s Katie Dinnebier averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game while shooting 52% from the floor in a pair of wins for the Bulldogs. Dinnebier began the week with 26 points, eight steals, seven assists, and went 9-of-16 from the floor in a victory over Bradley. Her eight swipes marked a new career high as she enjoyed her sixth 20-plus point effort of the year. She fell two points shy of another 20-point outpouring against Illinois State, contributing 18 points to go with six rebounds and a dozen assists for her third double-double of the year. 

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: ADDISON MARTIN, ILLINOIS STATE

Illinois State’s Addison Martin averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game on 11-for-14 shooting from the field (78.5%) as Illinois State took on UNI and Drake last week. She posted double-figure scoring performances in consecutive Valley games for the first time this season, including a season-high 14 points on 6-for-7 (85.7%) shooting to help Illinois State hand UNI its first MVC loss of the year. Martin totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block against the Bulldogs and shot 5-for-7 (71.4%) from the floor. She is shooting 78.1% from the field in Valley play, which leads the MVC. Martin, who finished north of 65% from the floor for the fifth time in MVC play Sunday, is the only player in the Valley to shoot better than 65% from the field in five MVC games this season. 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: CAMRYN RUNNER, EVANSVILLE

Evansville’s Camryn Runner paced the Purple Aces offense against Indiana State, dropping her fifth 20-point outing of the season with 24 points against the Sycamores. She went a career-best 6-of-10 from behind the 3-point arc, recording the best performance from 3-point range by an Ace since 2022 with her six made treys. Runner dished out a career-high six assists, replacing her season high of five. For the season, Runner is averaging 16.7 points per game and is one of two freshman inside the top 10 in the Valley.
