Carbondale, Ill. – Southern Illinois participated in its second consecutive Selection Sunday as the Salukis are headed to Louisiana State University for the Baton Rouge Regional. This season marks the 15th in program history that SIU will go to an NCAA Regional, and third over the last four seasons (2021, 2023, 2024).
SIU will be the No. 3 seed in the Region joined by No. 1 LSU, No. 2 California, and No.4 Jackson State. The Salukis will play Cal on Friday to open the tournament for a 2:30 PM CT first pitch. SIU and the Golden Bears have faced off three times before with Cal winning the first three matchups.
Southern will go on to play either Jackson State or LSU on Saturday in the double elimination bracket.
Friday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ as well as available on the Varsity Network App for a radio call.
