ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its volleyball postseason honors on Saturday, as voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches.
For just the third time in league history, and first time since 2013, the Valley’s Player of the Year award is shared with Drake’s Macy Daufeldt and UNI’s Kira Fallert each taking home the honor. Both student-athletes are earning the distinction for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Drake’s Jada Wills and UNI’s Erin Powers were the tabbed the MVC Co-Liberos of the Year. Wills is earning her second-straight honor while Powers is the third Panther to receive the distinction.
Illinois State’s Mekaila Aupiu and Khenedi Guest were named the Valley’s Setter of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively. Aupiu is the third Redbird to earn the distinction, and first since 2020, while Guest is the fifth Redbird since the turn of the century to be selected as the league’s top rookie.
UNI’s Bobbi Petersen was tabbed the league’s Coach of the Year after the Panthers completed their second-straight undefeated Conference season. Petersen is earning the honor for the ninth time in her tenure at the helm.
