Tucker DeVries Placed on Julius Erving Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Tucker DeVries of Drake men's basketball was selected to the 2024 Julius Erving Award Watch List, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Wednesday, Oct. 25. Named after Class of 1993 Hall of Famer and 16-year professional basketball player Julius Erving, the annual honor, in its tenth year, recognizes the top small forwards in Division I men's college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.

DeVries was the 2022-23 Larry Bird Trophy winner and was predicted to repeat the honor, being named MVC Preseason Player of the Year for the second straight season. DeVries averaged a team-high 18.6 points per game for the Bulldogs a season ago.
