MVC Announces Softball Scholar-Athlete Teams

ST. LOUIS -- Twelve conference softball student-athletes have been named to the 2022 MVC Scholar-Athlete first team, including four repeat first team selections, as voted on by the league's softball sports information directors and announced by the Missouri Valley Conference office today.  

Missouri State’s Daphne Plummer claimed the MVC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  Plummer has a 4.00 GPA in Management (Graduate Certificate) and led the Bears in batting average, runs scored, hits, sacrifice flies, stolen bases, triples and at bats. 

UNI placed four student-athletes on the first team, the most in the league.  Indiana State claimed two spots while Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Missouri State and Southern Illinois earned one nod each.  In all, eight conference schools are represented on the first team.

In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have at 3.3 GPA or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.
