SIU's Abby Brockmeyer moved the Salukis back to the top of The Valley standings with a pair of road wins last week, beating Bradley and Illinois State. Brockmeyer averaged 17.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game, surpassing 1,000 career rebounds in the process. The award is Brockmeyer's second Player of the Week honor of the season.
Missouri State senior guard Mariah White led the Lady Bears to wins at Illinois State and Bradley over the weekend. White averaged 13.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 48% from the field during the week, earning her first Newcomer of the Week honor.
MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Abby Brockmeyer, Gr, F, Southern Illinois
Saluki graduate forward Abby Brockmeyer averaged 17 points and 13.5 rebounds per game across two Saluki wins this past week. On Friday against Bradley, Brockmeyer put up 14 points and grabbed 15 boards, her third-highest rebound total this season. On Sunday against Illinois State, Brockmeyer scored 20 points while pulling down 12 rebounds. The graduate forward shot 11-of-21 (52.4%) from the field for the week. Brockmeyer currently leads the Valley in rebounding (10.2 per game), is second in field goal percentage (53.2%) and is third in scoring (16.2 points per game). Brockmeyer also leads the MVC in double-doubles with 12 and is the only Valley player averaging a double-double per game.
MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Mariah White, Sr., G, Missouri State
Graduate transfer Mariah White had a strong weekend as she helped Missouri State go 2-0 on the road at first-place Illinois State and Bradley. White was the second-leading scorer for the Lady Bears across the weekend, averaging 13.5 ppg to go with 2.5 rpg. White shot 48 percent (10-21) from the field, while dishing out four assists and getting two steals in just 49 total minutes off the bench. On Friday night against the first-place Redbirds, White led the Lady Bears with a 21-point performance on 7-for-12 shooting from the field, while going 6-for-9 from the charity stripe. White scored 10 of her 21 points on 3-for-3 shooting from the field in the third quarter alone, while also grabbing three rebounds and dishing out two assists in the game. On Sunday afternoon at Bradley, White had six points in addition to two rebounds and two assists as the Lady Bears swept their weekend on the road.

Anna Miller (DU) - Miller led the Bulldogs with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, and a steal in a win at UNI. In her 25 minutes on the court, she helped Drake maintain a lead. With their starting forward in foul trouble, Miller stepped up and helped the Bulldogs on both sides of the ball
Je’Naiya Davis (UE) - A week after earning her third newcomer of the week award of the season, junior guard Je’Naiya Davis continued her form, again leading the team on the weekend. In a pair of conference contests, Davis averaged 19.5 points and five rebounds, while shooting 43.8% from the field. Against Valpo on Friday night, Davis finished with 21 points in her fifth game of 20+ points on the season. Facing Loyola on Sunday, Davis just missed another 20-point performance, finishing with 17 points, knocking-down three triples. Davis sits second in The Valley in points per game, averaging 16.3 points per contest.
JuJu Redmond (ILS) - Illinois State guard JuJu Redmond averaged 22.0 pts, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the Redbirds’ final homestand this weekend to move into 26th all-time in scoring in just her three seasons at Illinois State. Redmond went for 23 points, six rebounds and three assists in Friday’s battle with Missouri State, before posting a game-high 21 points in Sunday afternoon’s finale with Southern Illinois. Redmond has nine 20+ point performances on the season and has led the Redbirds in scoring in each of their last five games.
Mya Glanton (INS) - Glanton averaged a double-double across three games for the Sycamores last week, scoring 11.0 points per game while also pulling down 10.7 rebounds per game. She had double-digit rebounds in each of the last two games, while also setting a career-high in scoring Sunday against Valparaiso. Glanton had six rebounds in ISU’s first game of the week at Loyola, then followed that with six points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the back half of the two-game set between the Sycamores and Ramblers. In the Sycamores’ final game of the week, she produced in a big way with a career-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting and 5-for-5 from the free throw line, along with a game-high 14 rebounds, against Valparaiso. Glanton also added six assists, one block and one steal across the three games.
Maya Chandler (LUC) - Loyola sophomore guard Maya Chandler averaged a team-high 12.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 rebounds as the Ramblers swept three matchups against opponents from the state of Indiana last week. In Tuesday’s home tilt with Indiana State, Chandler erupted for a season-high tying 19 points (7-13 FGs, 2-6 3FGs, 3-4 FTs), leading the Ramblers to a 64-40 victory. After adding six points (1-9 FGs, 4-4 FTs) in Friday’s 61-59 road win over the Sycamores, the Martinsville, Ind. native was one of three Ramblers in double figures in a come-from-behind 60-56 triumph at Evansville, finishing with 13 points (5-13 FGs, 3-8 3FGs) in addition to five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Chandler is putting up 10.8 points across her last five outings, a stretch that has seen Loyola go 4-1.
Abi Jackson (MSU) - Abi Jackson was the leading scorer for Missouri State this weekend, as she averaged 18.5 ppg while also grabbing 6.5 rpg in two road victories at Illinois State and Bradley. While averaging a team-high 33.1 minutes per game over the weekend, Jackson shot 45 percent from the field, 82 percent from the free throw line and had a team-leading six blocked shots. On Friday at Illinois State, Jackson dropped 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds to pair with four blocked shots as she helped MSU pick up a crucial conference win against the first-place Redbirds. On Sunday afternoon at Bradley, Jackson scored a game-high 19 points, while going 5-for-6 at the charity stripe and grabbing six more rebounds. She also had two assists and two blocked shots as the Lady Bears moved to 2-0 on the weekend. With 18 and 19-point performances, Jackson has scored 15 or more points in her last four games.
Shay Frederick (VU) - Frederick led Valpo last weekend as the Beacons posted a road sweep of their fellow Indiana schools, a vital two wins in the battle for top-six placement. The senior averaged team bests of 18.5 points and 6.5 assists per game in the pair of victories. Frederick led Valpo with 18 points and tied for game-high honors with seven assists on Friday in the overtime win at Evansville. Her 3-pointer with 23.2 seconds to play in regulation tied the game and eventually forced overtime. In the extra session, she was involved in the final six points of the game, taking it from a one-point deficit to a five-point win as she hit four free throws and delivered the assist on a vital basket with 1:08 remaining. Then, on Sunday at Indiana State, Frederick scored 19 points and led all players with six assists as the Beacons rallied from a 13-point deficit to take down the Sycamores. She set a program single-game record during the victory, going a perfect 14-for-14 from the foul line. Along the way, she also moved into the program’s career top-10 on the scoring charts.
Sierra Morrow (BU) - Morrow put together two impressive performances against the top two teams in the Missouri Valley Conference, averaging 13.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.0 bpg against weekend visitors Southern Illinois and Missouri State … In Friday’s matchup against the Salukis, Morrow was 5-for-5 shooting from the field in an 11-point effort … She also shared team-high honmors with four rebounds and swatted a game-high three shots … In Sunday’s game against the Bears, Morrow led the Braves with a career-best 15 points by shooting 6-for-10 from the floor … She again shared team-high honors on the glass with seven rebounds and once again led all players with three blocked shots … While shooting 11-for-15 (.733) from the field, Morrow was 3-for-4 from 3-point range … Bradley’s third-leading scorer on the season, Morrow leads the Braves with 5.5 rpg and ranks fourth in The Valley by averaging 1.8 blocked shots per game.
Megan Meyer (DU) - Meyer led the Bulldogs, alongside Anna Miller, in scoring when she ended with 16 points. She added six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. She hit a shot from beyond the arc with 20 seconds left to secure the win for Drake against UNI. She scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half alone, making three treys.
Olivia Brown (VU) - Brown had a super-efficient pair of games over the weekend in averaging 11 points/game, helping Valpo to a pair of road wins to solidify its top-six placement in the MVC standings. Brown was 4-5 from the floor (2-3 3PT) and 4-4 from the foul line for 14 points in the overtime win at Evansville on Friday, also dishing out a pair of assists. Then on Sunday at Indiana State, Brown knocked down 3-4 from the floor, including both her 3-point attempts, for eight points. For the weekend, Brown’s 11 PPG came on 77.8% FG% and 80% 3PT%.
