ST. LOUIS – Missouri State earned the top seed in the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship, capping off the MVC season at 6-0-2 (20 points) to claim the outright MVC regular-season crown for the fourth-straight season. The regular season title is the 11th for the Bears men’s soccer program.
Missouri State becomes the first Valley team since Creighton from 1992-96 to win four straight outright men’s soccer regular season crowns.
Drake, which finished its conference slate with a 5-2-1 record (16 points), will be the No. 2 seed. Evansville earns the No. 3 seed (3-2-3 MVC, 12 points), while UIC (3-4-1 MVC, 10 points) claims the No. 4 seed and Belmont (2-2-4, 10 points) the No. 5 seed. UIC held the tiebreaker over Belmont due to goal differential in league contests after the two teams played a 3-3 draw this season. SIUE (2-6-0 MVC, 6 points) will be the No. 6 seed, while Bradley (1-6-1, 4 points) rounds out the field as the No. 7 seed.
The Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship will kick off with quarterfinal round matches on Sunday, Nov. 6 on the campuses of each of the high seeds.
All six matches of the 2022 MVC Men's Soccer Championship, including three quarterfinals on Sunday, November 6, two semifinals on Thursday, November 10 and the championship match on Sunday, November 13, will be available for fans to follow via live streaming on
ESPN+.
