MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Juliunn Redmond, 5th, G, Illinois State
Illinois State guard JuJu Redmond had a career weekend for the Redbirds, averaging 22.5 points, 8.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.5 rebounds. Redmond exploded for a career-high 34 points on Thursday evening, shooting 70% (14-of-20) from the field and adding seven assists and three steals. The Chicago-native is one of only three NCAA DI players to record that stat line (34pts/70FG%/7asts/3stls) since the 2009-10 season and is the only MVC player to have collected multiple 30+ point games this season. Redmond went on to tally her first points-assist double-double as a Redbird in Saturday’s win over Drake, totaling 11 points, 10 assists and three steals in 35 minutes on the court.

Noteworthy - In addition to the league's player and newcomer of the week selections, several conference players had notable performances, and they include:

Maggie Bair (DU) - Bair continues to lead the Bulldogs in scoring this season. Over the weekend, she averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game as the Bulldogs split with Bradley and Illinois State. Against Bradley, she scored a team high 19 points, making it her sixth game this season scoring over 15. She also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded three blocks in the win. Against Illinois State she tallied 16 points, falling just short of a double-double as she grabbed nine rebounds in the loss to the Redbirds.

Abby Feit (UE) - In a pair of Valley games, junior Abby Feit averaged a double and boosted her season average. Feit averaged 16 points and 10.1 boards on the weekend, recording her 10th double-double of the year on Saturday against SIU. Feit is now averaging a double-double on the season with 16 points and 10.1 rebounds per game new the Normal, Ill. native’s averages on the year as well.

Mya Glanton (INS) -  Glanton posted her second double-double of the season in Indiana State’s lone game last week against Missouri State. Playing a career-high 37 minutes against the Lady Bears, Glanton had 11 points and 10 rebounds, including a 5-for-6 performance from the free throw line. It was Glanton’s most points and rebounds against a conference foe in her career and marked the second straight game that a Sycamore post player notched a double-double.

Bre Hampton-Bey (LUC) -  Loyola graduate student guard Bre Hampton-Bey was active on both ends of the floor in the Ramblers’ 62-48 win over Valparaiso on Friday night in Rogers Park.  Hampton-Bey put up a team-high 14 points (5-11 FGs, 1-3 3FGs, 3-5 FTs) in addition to grabbing six rebounds, dishing out a game-high five assists, and coming away with a steal against the Beacons.  Loyola is a perfect 8-0 on the year when the Toledo, Ohio native reaches double figures in scoring, a feat that she has accomplished three times in her last four outings.

Abi Jackson (MSU) - Abi Jackson paced the Lady Bears last week by averaging a team high 19.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg on 50% percent shooting from the field as Missouri State picked up two road wins. On Thursday night at Evansville, Jackson once again set a career high after dropping 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting. The fifth-year senior also went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds against the Purple Aces. Jackson’s 10 field goals on the night were more than the entire Purple Aces squad (9-for-47), as she helped lead MSU to its largest margin of victory in MVC play since Feb. 21, 2004. On Saturday afternoon at Indiana State, Jackson recorded a 14-point, 10-rebound performance to collect her fifth double-double of the season, four of which have come in MVC play. Jackson came in clutch down the stretch for Missouri State, as she drove in for a layup and converted two free throws in the final minute of a two-point game against the Sycamores. Jackson is averaging a team-leading 14.9 ppg and 8.3 rpg in conference play for the Lady Bears.

Grace Boffeli (UNI) - Boffeli tallied her third double-double of the season in route to two big Valley wins this week for the Panthers. Over two games Boffeli averaged 12.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in 38 minutes of play, including being the leading scorer and rebounder for UNI against Bradley on Saturday afternoon. Boffeli currently leads UNI in rebounds with 151 on the season so far and averaging 8.4 a game. Along with leading the team defensively, Boffeli had a career high in points and field goals made this week in Illinois.

Abby Brockmeyer (SIU) - Saluki graduate forward Abby Brockmeyer notched her ninth double-double of the season with 19 points and 14 rebounds in a 75-62 win over Evansville. Brockmeyer shot 7-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Seven of her 14 rebounds were offensive boards; Brockmeyer currently leads the MVC in both rebounding (10.4 per game) and offensive rebounding (3.6 per game). Brockmeyer also sits second in the Valley in scoring with 16.2 points per game and is averaging 17 points per game in conference play. Her 55.8% field goal percentage currently sits first in the conference as well.

Mariah White (MSU) - Mariah White averaged 7.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg last week for the Lady Bears in two road victories. On Thursday night at Evansville, White recorded eight points and six rebounds to go with a season high six assists. White also matched her season high with four steals. On Saturday afternoon at Indiana State, White scored six points and grabbed three rebounds, while going 4-for-6 from the free throw line. In a tie ballgame with under two minutes remaining at Indiana State, White hit the first basket for the Lady Bears to break the tie and ultimately helped lead MSU to a victory on the road.
