ST. LOUIS -- Five repeat first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selections from a year ago, including Bradley's Gabi Haack and Lasha Petree, Missouri State's Brice Calip and Jasmine Franklin and UNI's Karli Rucker, headline a list of 11 players named to the all-conference first team unit, the league office announced Wednesday.
Joining the five repeat selections on the first team is Illinois State's Juliunn Redmond and Southern Illinois' Makenzie Silvey, both 2020 honorable mention choices. Drake's Grace Berg and Maddie Monahan, Loyola's Allison Day, and Valpo's Shay Frederick, all first-time honorees, round out teh first team selections.
The honorable mention team includes Drake's Kierra Collier, Evansville's Abby Feit, Illinois State's Mary Crompton, Loyola's Ellie Rice, Missouri State's Abby Hipp and Valpo's Carie Weinman.
Players from four different schools land spots on the MVC All-Defensive Team. Bradley's Lasha Petree, Illinois State's Terrion Moore, Missouri State's Brice Calip and Jasmine Franklin and Valpo's Carie Weinman all join the all-defensive unit.
Three schools are represented on the MVC All-Freshman Team. Drake's Courtney Becker, Loyola's Maya Chandler and Sitori Tanin and UNI's Emerson Green and Maya McDermott appear on the five-player rookie team.
Four schools are represented on the MVC All-Newcomer Team. Drake's Grace Berg, Illinois State's Terrion Moore and DeAnna Wilson, Loyola's Bre Hampton-Bey and Missouri State's Abi Jackson appear on the five-player newcomer team.
Missouri Valley Conference specialty awards for Player, Newcomer, Freshman, Defensive Player, Most Improved Player and Sixth Player of the Year will be announced, in addition to the league’s Coach of the Year, on the MVC Tournament Preview Show at 4 PM CT on Thursday, March 11, on ESPN+.
