EDWARDSVILLE, IL - Bradley claimed a 2-1 win over SIUE in the MVC quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Braves became the first six seed to reach the MVC semifinals since 2014 when Bradley beat No. 3 seed Evansville in the quarterfinals.
After a competitive scoreless first half, the Braves found the back of the net first in the 54th minute as Danny Collins scored his second goal of the season. The host Cougars answered exactly two minutes later as Harvey Moyes found the back of the net for the first time this season.
Bradley's Rasmus Smidtslund netted the game-winner in the 73
rd minute, which was his first goal of the season.
Bradley held off several late attempts from the Cougars before clinching the victory, marking the second time in as many tries that the Braves have swept a 3-game season series dating back to Evansville in 2019.
The Braves will face top seed Missouri State in the second semifinal Friday night in Springfield, Missouri. Kickoff set for 6 PM on ESPN+.
