Bracket Set for 2021 MVC Men’s Soccer Championship

TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

ST. LOUIS – Missouri State earned the top seed in the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship, capping off the MVC season at 10-0-0 (30 points) to claim the outright MVC regular-season crown for the third-straight season.  The regular season title is the 10th for the Bears men’s soccer program.

MSU becomes the first Valley team since SMU in 2000, 2001 and 2002 to win three-straight outright men’s soccer regular season crowns.  The Bears enter the tournament winning 27 of their last 28 MVC regular season matches, including two 10-0-0 MVC seasons in the past three years.

The Bears also enter tournament play riding an NCAA-best 13-match win streak.

Loyola Chicago, which finished its conference slate with a 6-3-1 record (19 points), will be the No. 2 seed and receive the other first-round bye along with Missouri State. SIUE earns the No. 3 seed (4-6-0 MVC, 12 points), while Evansville (3-6-1 MVC, 10 points) claims the No. 4 seed and Drake (3-7-0, 9 points) the No. 5 seed. Bradley (3-7-0 MVC, 9 points) will be the No. 6 seed, losing the head-to-head tiebreaker to Drake due to the Bulldogs sweeping the season series.

The Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship will kick off with quarterfinal round matches on Tuesday, Nov. 9 on the campuses of each of the high seeds.
