ST. LOUIS – Illinois State sophomore outside hitter Tamara Otene earned the league’s Player of the Year award, highlighting this season’s honorees. Bradley senior Kora Kauling has been named the Setter of the Year, Illinois State junior Kaity Weimerskirch took home the league’s Libero of the Year honor, while Evansville’s Giulia Cardona claimed the conference’s Freshman of the Year award. Otene, Kauling, Weimerskirch and Cardona headline a list of 19 student-athletes named to the 2021 MVC All-Conference teams, selected by the coaches, and announced by the league office Thursday.
