PEORIA, IL - Central Arkansas sophomore forward Niklas Brodacki sent the Bears to a 1-0 overtime win over Missouri State in the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Sunday afternoon at Shea Stadium in Peoria.
Central Arkansas claims its first MVC Tournament title and secured its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament as a Division I member.
Brodacki received a cross from Chris Holmes and delivered the game-winner to the far post, beating Missouri State goalkeeper Liam Priestley, netting his NCAA-leading 17th goal of the season. Brodacki has three game-winners on the season and scored both Bear goals during their two MVC tourney wins. His 39 total points rank second nationally.
Missouri State outshot Central Arkansas 10-9 in the contest with eight of MSU's shots coming in the second half.
The Bears will find out their opening round opponent in the 2017 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship during the Division I Men's Soccer Selection Announcement on Monday, Nov. 13, at 12 PM (CST), on NCAA.com.
