A native of Deerfield, IL, Chick Orsborn is the sixth “Coaches Wing” selection to the Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame.
               
Voted the Bradley Basketball “Coach of the Century”, Orsborn sported a 194-56 (.776) record with the Braves from 1956 to 1965.
               
Orsborn needed only 120 games to earn his first 100 triumphs, which originally ranked in the top ten starts in NCAA Division I history.
               
After four seasons, his winning percentage was .8246, and after five seasons, it was .821. He also holds notable mentions for six and eight seasons (.8095 and .789)
               
In his nine campaigns as Bradley head coach, he led the Braves to seven National Invitation Tournament appearances, winning championships in 1957, 1960, and 1964 and adding a runner-up finish in 1959.
               
Inducted into the NIT Hall of Fame in 2002, Orsborn was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year (1960 and 1962) and coached Bradley All-Americans Bobby Joe Mason (1957, 1960) and Chet Walker (1960, 1961 and 1962).
               
As a player Orsborn was a member of Bradley’s “Famous Five”, graduating in 1939. He became Bradley director of athletics in 1965 and served in that position until 1978.
