Hall of Fame
A consensus All-American during his junior and senior seasons at Louisville, Unseld completed his career with 1,686 points and 1,551 rebounds for the Cardinals. A three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, he began his senior season in 1967-68 by scoring 45 points against Georgetown College, a record which still exists today.
During his junior year, he led the Cards to a final No. 2 ranking in both wire service polls.
He played in the NBA for 13 seasons with the Baltimore/Washington Bullets. He was the second player in NBA history to earn Rookie-of-the-Year and Most Valuable Player honors in the same season. He was tabbed the Championship Series MVP, as he led the Bullets to the 1978 NBA title.
