He led the Braves to a three-year record of 69-14 (1960-62), a mark that included two trips to the National Invitation Tournament and a 1960 NIT championship. Walker enjoyed a 13-year professional career with the Syracuse Nationals (1962-63), Philadelphia 76ers (1963-69), and the Chicago Bulls (1969-75). A seven-time All-Star (1964, ’66, ’67, ’70, ’71, ’73, ’74) and an All-Rookie Team selection in 1963, Walker starred for the 76ers and helped lead the 1967 team – considered the best in league history 00 to an NBA title. A tenacious defender and a consistent performer, his teams reached the playoffs 13 consecutive years, and he missed only 21 games in his career.
