A native of Indianapolis, Ind., and a product of Perry Meridian High, Holli Hyche rewrote the Missouri Valley Conference record books and etched her name into NCAA sprint history.

The owner of 14 individual conference titles (four in the Gateway Conference and 10 in the Missouri Valley Conference), Hyche was named Valley Track Athlete of the Year twice indoors (1993 and 94) and twice outdoors (1993 and 94).

Hyche is a seven-time NCAA champion and a ten-time All-America selection. Spanning two seasons, she was undefeated in 49 collegiate finals. She captured All-America honors twice in the 55 meters, three times in indoor 200, twice in 100, twice in the outdoor 200 and once as a member of the 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 1993, she won the NCAA Indoor 55 and 200 meters and the NCAA Outdoor 100 and 200 meters, in the process becoming the first Indiana State female NCAA champion.

Hyche followed up by winning the 1994 NCAA Indoor 55 meters and 200 meters, establishing an NCAA meet mark (22.90), becoming one of only two student-athletes to win both indoor 55 and 200 in back-to-back years. She won the NCAA Outdoor 100 meters and placed second in the 200 meters.

In 1994, she was named NCAA Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.

The recipient of the 1993 and 94 Honda Awards for track and field, Hyche competed in the 1996 Olympic Trials in the 100 meters, placing eighth in the semifinals.
