ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Conference has announced its men's basketball conference schedule for all 10 schools for the 2021-22 season.
Last season, the league was the only NCAA Division I conference to play all of its men’s basketball regular-season games (90 of 90). In 2020-21, the league played an 18-game format in which most MVC teams faced one another in a two-game series on back-to-back days at the same site. Men’s basketball played league games using that scheduling model for the first 13 seasons (1907-08 thru 1919-20) before adopting the more traditional home/away scheduling model. The Conference returns to a more traditional 18-game true round robin scheduling model this season.
The State Farm MVC Tournament will take place Thursday-Sunday, March 3-6, at Enterprise in St. Louis, Mo.
This year, all 10 schools will play a single conference game the week after Thanksgiving (on either December 1 or 2), and each school's remaining 17 league contests will occur after Christmas, beginning with games on Sunday, Jan. 2. Television network designations and start times will be made at a later date. For men’s basketball, it’s possible a game date shift could occur to accommodate a national television partner request.
