Male Track-
Matthew Lewis-Banks, Jr., Indiana State (Hazel Crest, Illinois)
Matthew Lewis-Banks had a strong Friday of competition at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational. The junior clocked a personal-best and 10th-best time in school history of 13.98 in the 110-meter hurdles to win the event and he now sits at second in the Valley and 34th in the East Region. He was also the lead-off leg of the school record 4X100-meter relay squad that erupted for a victory and time of 39.76. That time now leads the MVC and sits at 17th in the East.

Female Track-
Zoe Sullivan, Fr., Indiana State (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Freshman Zoe Sullivan had her best day in a Sycamore uniform at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational. Sullivan placed second in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, recording a time of 14.13. During the preliminary round she clocked a time of 14.10, the ninth-best time in ISU history and third-best time in the Valley.

Male Field -
Logan Calvin, R-Jr., Illinois State (Bloomington, Indiana)
Redshirt-junior Logan Calvin won both the shot put and the discus at the Pacesetter Sports Invite, throwing 18.55m (60-10.75 ft.) in the shot put and 51.12m (167-8 ft.) in the discus. In addition to his wins in the shot put and the discus, Calvin also placed third in the hammer throw at the Pacesetter Sports Invite with a throw of 58.36 meters (191-6 ft.). Calvin has won at least one event at four of the six meets for the Redbirds this season and has won at least two on three different occasions. He currently is ranked No. 15 in the shot put and No. 47 in the hammer throw in the NCAA West Region and is in the top-five in the conference in the shot put (No. 2), the discus (No. 5) and the hammer throw (No. 4).

Female Field -
Sydney Laufenberg, Sr., Illinois State (Clinton, Iowa)
Senior Sydney Laufenberg won the discus for the fifth time this season, throwing a winning mark of 51.65 meters (169-5 ft.) at the Pacesetter Sports Invite. With that mark, Laufenberg has thrown 51 meters or better at every meet this season. She currently leads the Valley with a mark of 54.90 meters (180-1 ft.) and is ranked No. 19 in the NCAA West Region.

Southern Illinois is set to host the 2021 MVC Outdoor Track & Field Championship this Friday - Sunday in Carbondale, Illinois. Due to current Jackson County COVID parameters, spectators will not be permitted at the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
