OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (February 8, 2021) – Thirty NCAA^® women’s basketball student-athletes who excel both on and off the court were selected as candidates today for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award^®. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. 
 
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ^®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. 

Haack is third in the MVC in both scoring (16.2 ppg) and rebounding (7.2 rpg), while leading the league in three-pointers per game (2.8) this season.  Through games of Feb. 7, she is one of two players in the nation with 50 made three-pointers, 50 made free throws and at least 125 rebounds and the only player in the country to also have 35 or more assists. 

Monahan is a four-year starter with 111 career starts. Her 12.7 scoring average is a career-best while shooting 51.1 percent from the floor and a career-high 89.2 percent from the free throw line. Her 3.9 assists per game is fifth in the league.
 
The women’s candidates will be narrowed to two fields of ten finalists in late February, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will then select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C’s of community, classroom, character and competition.
 
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2021 NCAA Women’s Final Four^® this spring.
