Single Player of the Week

Tijana Zlatanovic, Fr., Salzburg, Austria (Illinois State)
Freshman Tijana Zlatanovic continued the strong start to her debut collegiate campaign with a pair of wins at the No. 1 spot for the Redbirds in two team victories last week. The Salzburg, Austria, native defeated Dayton’s Paige Kompa (7-6 (8-6), 6-1) in straight sets on Saturday and then had little trouble with DePauw’s Erin Friedrich (6-0, 6-1) in a win on Sunday. With the two victories, Zlatanovic improved to 7-2 on the season, with a 6-2 mark at the No. 1 spot for the Redbirds.

Doubles Team of the Week

Natalia Barbery, Sr., Santa Cruz. Bolivia
Sandra Maletin, Jr., Belgrade, Serbia
(Bradley)

The rock-solid Number 1 doubles tandem of Natalia Barbery and Sandra Maletin have been the source of consistency for the Braves in doubles, picking up a 6-3 win over Southeast Missouri State’s Number 1 doubles team of Romana Tarajova and Kseniya Zonova. Their 25 wins at Number 1 Doubles in dual match action is the second-best total at any of the three positions in program history. The victory also made Maletin the eighth individual in Bradley history to win at least 100 career combined singles and doubles matches and pushed Barbery to within one win of joining the Bradley 100 Wins Club.

*MVC Tennis Athletes of the Week are selected each week during the season. Nominees are provided by each school’s sports information contact and voted on by a panel appointed by the league office.
