MVC Announces 2019-20 Women's Basketball All-conference Teams

ST. LOUIS -- Six repeat first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selections from a year ago, including Bradley's Chelsea Brackmann and Gabi Haack, Drake's Becca Hittner and Sara Rhine, Illinois State's TeTe Maggett and UNI's Karli Rucker, headline a list of 11 players named to the all-conference first-team unit, the league office announced Wednesday.

Joining the six repeat selections on the first team is Bradley's Lasha Petree and Missouri State's Brice Calip, Jasmine Franklin and Alexa Willard, all 2019 honorable mention choices. Illinois State's Lexi Wallen, a first-time honoree, rounds out the first team selections.

The honorable mention team includes Evansville's Abby Feit, Illinois State's Juliunn Redmond, Loyola's Abby O'Connor, Southern Illinois' Nicole Martin and Makenzie Silvey and Valparaiso's Grace Hales.

Players from five different schools land spots on the MVC All-Defensive Team. Bradley's Chelsea Brackmann and Lasha Petree, Illinois State's Paige Saylor, Missouri State's Brice Calip, Southern Illinois' Brittney Patrick and Valparaiso's Carie Weinman all join the all-defensive unit.

Four schools are represented on the MVC All-Freshman Team. Bradley's Mahri Petree, Evansville's Abby Feit, Indiana State's Del'Janae Williams and Loyola's Sam Galanopoulos and Jala Johnson appear on the five-player rookie team.

Missouri Valley Conference specialty awards for Player, Newcomer, Freshman, Defensive Player and Sixth Player of the Year will be announced, in addition to the league’s Coach of the Year, at an awards ceremony in between Games 1 and 2 of the MVC Tournament on Thursday, March 12, at TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Ill.
