The 2019-20 Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Four MVC men's basketball student-athletes earned all-district honors, including:
Barret Benson, Southern Illinois University, Gr., 3.63/4.00, Radio, TV & Film (UG) / Recreation Professions (G)
AJ Green, University of Northern Iowa, So., 3.61, Movement & Exercise Science Sports Psych
Nate Kennell, Bradley University, Sr., 3.52, Management Information Systems
Cameron Krutwig, Loyola University Chicago, Jr., 3.42, Entrepreneurship
Benson is a graduate transfer from Northwestern who was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. He helped lead Northwestern to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. He enters tonight's game as the team's leading rebounder and also averages 10.8 points per game.
Green has a 3.61 cumulative grade point average in Movement and Exercise Science and Sports Phycology. Green has made the Dean's list the past two semesters while being named to the Athletic Directors Honor Roll all three semesters. On the court, Green is averaging 20.2 points per game while shooting 42.6 percent from the field.
Kennell entered last night's game against Missouri State 10th nationally with a 3-point percentage of 44.4. He is fifth among active players in the Valley with 1,153 career points and second with 236 made 3-pointers. Earlier this season he became the 49th player in school history to eclipse 1,000 career points. His 236 career three-pointers rank second all-time at Bradley.
Krutwig is the seventh player in program history with 1,300 points and 700 rebounds. The 2017-18 MVC Freshman of the Year earned Third Team All-MVC accolades as a freshman when he helped the Ramblers to the Final Four and he collected first Team All-MVC recognition last season while finishing third in the Larry Bird Trophy voting. He was a 2018-19 MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team pick.
Last season, the MVC had three who earned academic all-district honors and two Academic All-America selections. The four selections this year matches an all-time high for the MVC, accomplished previously in 1997 and in 2007.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March. The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
