On Sunday, Dec. 20, Valparaiso cancelled its Monday, Dec. 21, game with visiting Mount St. Joseph University, and the Valparaiso men’s basketball program has announced a pause in all team activities due to positive COVID-19 test results among the team’s personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff.

With the postponement of the Bradley at Valparaiso series, the MVC TV Network will now produce the Missouri State at Northern Iowa men’s basketball game on Monday, December 28, at 7 p.m. Central.  The Missouri State-UNI contest was originally selected as a digital exclusive for ESPN+ distribution.

In a cooperative move between MVC TV Network partners and ESPN, the production will be carried live on the main channels of FOX Sports Midwest-Indiana-Kansas City and NBC Sports Chicago and available digitally through the FOX Sports Go app and on ESPN+ through the ESPN app.  In addition, the FOX Sports Midwest territorial digital blackout inside the states of Iowa and Missouri will be lifted so that fans who were planning on consuming the game digitally on ESPN+ could still do so.

“In these strange, challenging times, we are grateful for the continued partnerships we have with FOX Sports Midwest-Indiana-Kansas City, NBC Sports Chicago and ESPN,” said Jack R. Watkins, MVC Associate Commissioner.  “The collegial spirit between our partners made this happen in a relatively short time, and we appreciate the willingness to find a solution.”

Once the Bradley-Valparaiso series is rescheduled, the Conference will select one of the two games for ESPN digital exclusive distribution.  Schedule updates throughout the season will be posted on mvc-sports.com.
