ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Illinois State outfielder Joe Aeilts and Redbird pitcher Brent Headrick highlight the 2019 MVC all-conference baseball teams, being tabbed Joe Carter Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, respectively. Illinois State's Steve Holm has been named the league's Dan Callahan Coach of the Year, after leading the Redbirds to their third regular-season title in program history and the second seed in this week's MVC Baseball Championship. Indiana State pitcher Collin Liberatore was named Newcomer of the Year and Sycamore third baseman Jake Means earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Missouri State rookie outfielder Dakota Kotowski was tabbed the league's Freshman of the Year.
