PEORIA, Illinois – The UNI softball team took on the Salukis of Southern Illinois in the semifinal round of the MVC Championships on Friday afternoon.

Jaclyn Spencer started in the circle for the Panthers, pitching and seven innings, with zero walks and seven strikeouts on 95 total pitches.

The Panthers and Salukis started the game with a quick opening inning with both teams retiring the first three batters. The Panthers recorded two hits the second inning but failed to cross the plate.

Jaclyn Spencer blasts a double to the center field fence in the top of the fifth inning to provide a spark for the Panthers.

After Brittney Krodinger reached in the top of the sixth, Sammey Bunch blast a two run home run over the left field fence for her 17^th home run of the season.

The Panthers maintained their two run lead and Jaclyn Spencer closed out the Salukis in the seventh to secure the win.
