Singles Player of the Week
 
Jamie Wei, Fr., Stony Brook (Chiayi City, Taiwan)
Wei went 3-0 at the No. 1 position in the team’s weekend sweep against UConn, Fairfield, and Sacred Heart. The Chiayi City native’s first victory of the weekend was with a three-set, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, victory against UConn on Friday. On Saturday against Fairfield, Wei won in a dominant two-set match (6-0, 6-4). On Sunday, the freshman continued her win streak defeating Sacred Heart’s No. 1 player, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Doubles Team of the Week
 
Anna Alons, Fr., Missouri State (Salix, Iowa)
Ellie Burger, So., Missouri State (Chesterfield, Mo.)
The tandem of Anna Alons and Ellie Burger played key roles in the Bears’ weekend victories, going a perfect 3-0 in doubles play. Starting their winning stretch, Alons and Burger claimed victory in a tight 7-5 battle and helped nabbed the doubles point in the Bears’ 7-0 sweep over Alabama A&M. The following day, the pair were the only doubles victors for the Bears, taking a 6-3 decision over their opponents. Closing out the weekend, Alons and Burger earned the 6-3 win as the Bears overpowered Tennessee State, 6-1.

Natalia Barbery, Bradley
Barbery was the lone Brave to enjoy a perfect, 2-0 record in singles action during the team’s trip to western Kentucky for dual matches Friday at Murray State and Sunday against Southeast Missouri State … In Friday’s match at Murray State, Barbery’s straight-sets victory at No. 4 Singles pulled the Braves into a 2-2 tie at the time of her finish … In Saturday’s match at SEMO, Barbery’s 3-set win also pulled the Braves into a 2-2 tie … Barbery now has won three straight singles matches, improving to 14-6 overall and 6-3 at No. 4 Singles during the dual season … The 14 singles wins to date matches her season-best total.
 
Tara Damnjanovic, Illinois State
Tara Damnjanovic was a perfect 2-0 this weekend at the No. 2 spot for the Redbirds. The true freshman secured a crucial win against Western Illinois Mary Bjelica 6-2, 6-0 which helped the team to a 4-0 shutout victory. The next day she defeated Butler’s Lauryn Padgett 6-1, 6-1 to help lead the team to defeat the Bulldogs 4-1. Damnjanovic is now 8-3 in singles play on her season and has been a consistent cornerstone for the team.
 
Anna Alons, Missouri State
Alons dominated singles play in the No. 2 spot for the Bears over the weekend, going 3-0 against her opponents. She started the streak at Alabama A&M with a three-set, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5, victory to help Missouri State sweep the Bulldogs 7-0. The following day Alons was the lone singles winner for the Bears, advancing in another triple set decision, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. At the Bears final stop, she cruised to a 7-5, 6-3 win to clinch the match. Missouri State would earn the 6-1 final against the Tigers, claiming its sixth victory of the season.
