Male Track
Akis Medrano, Sr., Indiana State (Boswell, Ind.)
The top performance of the weekend for the Sycamores came from Akis Medrano who ran one of the best races of his life in the men’s 5K. The Boswell, Ind. native earned the Meyo Invitational 5K championship by clocking a lifetime-best and second-best time in Indiana State history of 14:19.88 after surging to hold off Notre Dame’s Kevin Salvano. Medrano now owns the top time in the Missouri Valley Conference by 32 seconds and enters the national rankings at 25th.

Male Field
Adam Kessler, Sr., Southern Illinois (Lansing, Ill.)
Adam Kessler won the shot put for the second-straight weekend with a personal-best toss of 63’-2.25” (19.26m) at the Don DeNoon Invitational. Kessler became just the third Saluki male in program history to throw 63’ indoors, and currently ranks first in the MVC, and 17th nationally, in the event.

Female Track
Lindsey Brewis, R-Sr., Loyola (Dearborn, Mich.)
For the second time in as many seasons, Loyola redshirt senior Lindsey Brewis shattered the program's 3,000m run school record at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.  Out of Dearborn, Mich., Brewis turned in a sparkling time of 9:25.62, besting her previous school record by over a second, as she finished fifth overall.  Brewis' time not only leads The Valley, but also has her sitting in 34th on the NCAA leaderboard in the 3,000m run.

Female Field
Alexis Roberson, Jr., Southern Illinois (Jefferson City, Mo.)
Alexis Roberson recorded her seventh toss of 67-plus feet on the season to finish second among collegiate competitors at the Don DeNoon Invitational Saturday. Roberson threw 67’-3.5” (20.51m) on her second attempt and she now ranks second in the Valley, and 14th nationally, in the event.
