Singles Player of the Week
Bozana Lojpur, Fr., Bradley (Burnaby, British Columbia)
Lojpur continued her stellar freshman season by posting Bradley’s only 2-0 record in singles play during its weekend dual matches against UIC and SIU Edwardsville … Playing at No. 2 Singles, where she now boasts a 6-2 record during the dual match season, Lojpur posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory Friday against UIC, at the time pulling the Braves into a 1-1 tie … She followed up with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory in Sunday’s 4-1 win against SIU Edwardsville, pushing Bradley’s lead to 3-0 at the time of her finish … Lojpur now is tied for second on the team with 13 overall singles wins this year and her six victories during the dual match season already are tied for the ninth-most in the No. 2 position in program history.

Carmen Palumbo, So. Drake (Mclean, Va.)
Daria Walczak, Fr. Drake (Lodz, Poland)
Carmen Palumbo & Daria Walczak went 2-0 in doubles play this past weekend as Drake went 1-1 … the duo defeated Nicole Clarke & Loren Nelson of Milwaukee 6-3 … defeated Lesley Foe/Alexandrina Chinikov of Marquette 6-4 … Palumbo and Walczak improved to 6-3 on the season.

Liza Petushkova, Drake
Liza Petushkova defeated Alex Belle of Milwaukee 6-2, 6-3 to help Drake defeat Panthers … fell to Fleur Eggink of Marquette 6-0, 7-5 … Petushkova holds a 4-2 record on the young season.
Veronika Golanova, Illinois State
Redshirt Senior Veronika Golanova played a key role in the No. 1 spot this weekend, going 1-0. She won a decisive victory over Murray State Claire Chang 6-4, 6-3 to put the ‘Birds on the board 1-1 against Murray State and helped start the comeback that ultimately led to the win for the Redbirds.
Nolwenn Cardoso, Stony Brook
Cardoso won two tough 3 set matches this past weekend and is undefeated so far in singles this season.
Jordan Kopfer, Valparaiso
Kopfer enjoyed a perfect weekend in her home state, leading the way for Valpo during a two-match visit to Minnesota by posting a combined 4-0 record in singles and doubles. On the singles court, she battled from behind for a 5-7, 6-1, 10-5 win over Bethel’s Sydney Rott on Friday. That match proved pivotal as Valpo garnered a 5-4 road win. She continued her success on Saturday at No. 31 Carleton by rolling to a 6-2, 6-2 sweep of Yelena Hallman. Kopfer improved her singles mark to 9-6 on the year.
Doubles:
Laura Fitzgerald / Ivon Mihaleva, Illinois State
Sophomores Laura Fitzgerald and Ivon Mihaleva were the cornerstones of the Redbirds dual matches this weekend, going 2-0. The duo dominated Lipscomb’s Diachenko/Bandy 6-1 at the No. 3 spot on Friday and was the sole win for Illinois State doubles teams. The duo also easily handled Murray State’s Hanzic/S. Loncarevic 6-2 on Saturday at the No. 3 spot. Ivon went on to defeat Lipscomb’s Thabile Tshatedi 6-2, 6-1 for Illinois State’s only point for the day.
Jordan Kopfer / Dao Sysouvanh, Valparaiso
Kopfer and Sysouvanh were paired together for the first time this season as Sysouvanh made her return from an injury this weekend. The pair went a perfect 2-0 in doubles play. They recorded an 8-2 win over Sydney Rott and Meghan Schuler on Friday to help Valpo to a tight 5-4 victory over Bethel. That success continued on Sunday at No. 31 Carleton as they picked up another one-sided 8-2 victory.
