Men's Soccer Academic All-America
ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Conference placed a national best five players on the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Men's Soccer Team, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
For the third-straight year, the MVC led the nation with five honorees, placing all five on the first-team. The Valley nearly had over half of the first-team honorees placing five of the 11 honored players.
Missouri State's Kyle Hiebert earned the honor for the third-straight year. Hiebert was a first-team representative last season and a third-team selection in 2017. The MVC Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year boasts a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average in Accounting.
Loyola’s Marius Kullmann, Missouri State’s Michael Creek and Valparaiso’s Dylan Waugaman are each two-time recipients of the award. Waugaman was a second-team selection a year ago, while Kullmann and Creek were third-team honorees. Waugaman has a 3.99 GPA in Accounting, Creek a 3.97 GPA in Entrepreneurship and Kullmann a 3.96 GPA in Finance.
Drake’s Nate Seaberg was a first-time selection this season. The senior has a 4.00 GPA in Health Sciences.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form.
