CHICAGO, IL - Loyola claimed a 1-1 advancement over Missouri State in the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Sunday afternoon in Chicago, earning the title via a 5-4 advantage in penalty kicks.

Loyola claims its first MVC Tournament title and secured its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.  The Ramblers become the first team to win the MVC tourney as a host since since Bradley in 2013.

This marked just the third time in league history the MVC Tournament championship went to penalty kicks (2010 and 2003)

Missouri State's Matthew Bentley scored the first goal of the game in the 57th minute.  The senior has scored a goal in nine of his last 10 matches.

Loyola found the back of the net in the final minute of regulation to get the equalizer as Tyler Biggs scored on a header off an assist from Justin Sukow.

After a pair of overtimes, the match was decided in the seventh round of penalty kicks as Ethan Stoneman burried the winner.

Missouri State remains the only NCAA Division I team without a loss this season, sitting 17-0-1 on the year.

The Bears and Ramblers will find out their draw in the 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship during the Division I Men's Soccer Selection Announcement on Monday, Nov. 18, at 12 PM (CST), on NCAA.com.
