Singles Player of the Week
 
Bozana Lojpur, Bradley, Fr. (Burnaby, B.C.)
With Bradley playing short-handed due to illness (Natalia Barbery) and injury (Nina Marjanovic), freshman Bozana Lojpur pulled out a 3-set victory at No. 2 Singles to help the Braves rally for a 4-3 win in their season-opener Sunday against Milwaukee.  After dropping the first set, 6-3, Lojpur forced the extra set with a 6-0 romp in the second set.  With the Braves trailing the team score, 3-2, Lojpur earned a 6-2 triumph in her third set against Milwaukee’s Mayya Perova to push the match into a 3-3 tie.  With the win in her collegiate dual match debut, Lojpur now shares the team lead with eight overall singles wins this year.
 
Doubles Team of the Week
 
Veronika Golanova R-Sr., Illinois State (Roznov Pod Radhostem, Czech Republic)
Tara Damnjanovic Fr., Illinois State (Valjevo, Serbia)
Veronika and Tara played the No. 1 spot together for the first time and came out in a victory against IUPUI’s Ochalik/Lounsbury 7-6(5) in the first match of the season.  This was Tara’s first doubles match at the #1 spot in her Collegiate Career.

Singles:
Tara Damnjanovic, Illinois State
Freshman Tara Damnjanovic played in her first dual match as a Redbird at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles and got both wins. She partnered with V. Golanova for a 7-6(5) win over Ochalik/Lounsbury and took down Christine Stankovic 0-6, 6-2, 6-0 in Illinois State's 4-3 win over IUPUI.
 
Daisy Phillips, UNI
Against Omaha, the Panthers matches came down to the No. 3 and No. 4 singles match. Daisy Phillips defeated Marie Kapelevich (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the No. 4 spot to tie the match at 3 points.
 
Doubles:
 
Lindsay Haight/ Nikki Perlwitz, Bradley
After deciding not to compete during the 2017-18 school year, Haight returned to the team during the winter break and made her season debut by teaming with freshman Nikki Perlwitz at No. 3 Doubles in Sunday’s dual match versus Milwaukee.  The 6-3 victory helped the Braves clinch the crucial doubles point in an eventual 4-3 victory against the Panthers and also proved to be the first career doubles win in dual match play for both Haight and Perlwitz.
 
Daisy Phillips/Olivia Fain, UNI
In doubles competition, Daisy Phillips and Olivia Fain defeated Emily Behling and Rylee Tucker of Omaha, 6-3, in the No. 3 doubles spot to even the doubles match.
