Male Track
Anderson Devonish, R-Sr., Illinois State (Bridgetown, Barbados)
On Day Two of the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Devonish tied the Illinois State 400-meter school record that has not been touched in over forty years. Devonish’s event-winning time of 46.50 at Saturday’s meet ties Bruce Ijirigho’s school record that was set in 1975. With the mark, Devonish currently ranks first in the Valley and 23rd in all of Division I.

Ricky Hurley, Jr., Southern Illinois (Fox River Grove, Ill.)
Ricky Hurley set lifetime-bests in both the shot put and the weight throw at the Music City Challenge. Hurley began the weekend with a sixth place finish in the weight throw after he uncorked the ninth-longest throw in school history at 64'-7.50" (19.69m). In doing so, he became just the second Saluki thrower with top-10 marks in both the indoor shot put and the weight throw. The Fox River Grove, Ill. native followed with a lifetime-best toss of 59'-7" (18.16m) in the shot put to take seventh. Hurley now ranks second in the MVC, and 40th nationally, in the shot put and is currently fourth in the Valley in the weight throw.

Female Track
Brittany Neeley, Sr., Indiana State (Greentown, Ind.)
Brittany Neeley competed in the 800-meter run at the Music City Challenge where she earned a new personal-best time of 2:07.25 while finishing second overall, just .13 behind first place. Her time improves her fifth-best time in school history by two seconds and she is now first in the Valley and 46th in the country. Neeley was also a member of the DMR team that broke the school record with a time of 11:36.24, which is first in the Valley and 27th nationally.

Female Field
Sarah Pate, Sr., UNI (Epworth, Iowa)
Sarah Pate earned a runner-up finish in the weight throw on Saturday, after a mark of 63-8.75 in the event. Pate’s 63-8.75 at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, South Dakota ranks as the 45th best mark in the nation and third in the MVC. Pate’s throw ranks third all-time at UNI.
