EVANSVILLE, IN – Second-seeded Loyola battled sixth-seeded Drake and pulled out an exciting 1-0 double overtime win in Friday's first semifinal match in Evansville, Indiana, advancing to the final of the MVC Men's Soccer Tournament on Sunday.
With no score in regulation the match advanced to overtime. During the first overtime period Drake narrowly missed the game winner as Leroy Enzugusi struck the left post with under a minute to play in the extra frame.
Loyola was able to break through and score the game's only goal as Aidan Megally scored with under 90 seconds remaining in the contest. Megally’s goal was the team leading fourth of the season. Megally now has three game-winning goals on the season.
Loyola moved to 2-0 against Drake in MVC Tourney play and advanced to the program's first MVC title match.
The Ramblers will look for their first MVC Tournament title Sunday at 1 p.m. against Central Arkansas or Missouri State.
Drake ends its season at 7-7-3.
