Box Score

EVANSVILLE, IN - Behind a high scoring offense, the Missouri State soccer team rallied past Evansville in the Missouri Valley Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday night, earning a 5-2 victory. The game produced the highest scoring first half in MVC Tournament history, dating back to 1991, with five combined goals in the half.

The Missouri State defense started shaky as the Bears allowed two quick goals in the game's first 22 minutes. The Bears entered the game allowing only one first half goal all season and had allowed only two goals total over seven matches since October 1st.

The Bears offense also broke out of a slump as Missouri State netted five goals, a season high, after scoring a combined five goals over the final nine matches of the season.

Five different players found the back of the net for Missouri State as Greg Stratton, Harry Lewis, Stuart Wilkin, Josh Dolling and Conor Ingram each scored for the Bears.

Missouri State's five goals are the most goals scored in a tournament match since Creighton scored six goals in a 6-0 win over Eastern Illinois in 2002.

Missouri State continues action in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament as the fourth-seeded Bears face top-seeded Central Arkansas on Friday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
