Non-League Record
After five weeks of competition, the MVC still holds a combined record over .500 (39-33-5) in non-league play. Six teams still have non-conference games left on their schedule this season.
 
Regional Rankings
Two MVC teams are in The United Soccer Coaches’ Midwest Regional Ranking. Northern Iowa, is ranked No. 14 and Loyola ranks No. 15.
                     
Winning Streaks
Valparaiso and Indiana State have not lost a game at home this season. While, UNI posted another road victory Friday night to keep them undefeated on the road this season (4-0). Loyola is on a four-game winning streak.
 
 
MVC Offensive Player of the Week
Sarah Brandt, Sr. F, UNI (Ankeny, Iowa)
In Friday night’s thrilling win against NIU, senior Sarah Brandt would extend the UNI lead to 2-0 in the 44th minute and scored her fourth goal this season. Brandt would score the final Panthers goal, off a header from Sydney Hayden in the final minute of action. Brandt scored two goals in the win. In Sunday’ tie with North Dakota, Brandt would have the only Panthers goal, scoring off an assist from Jamie Athliser. With her goals this weekend, Brandt has five goals this season and is in third on the UNI All-Time Goals Scored list with 15.
 
MVC Defensive Player of the Week
Haley Smith, SO, GK, Illinois State (Fall River, Nova Scotia)
Smith posted two clean sheets in a row on the week. She earned her third shutout of the season on Friday night against then-No. 19 Marquette, tallying six saves on the match. Her fourth shutout came Sunday afternoon with the 1-0 win over Miami (Ohio) where she tallied five saves between the pipes.
 
MVC Newcomer of the Week
Hannah Bormann, Fr., F, Drake (Amana, Iowa)
Bormann is having a great first season as a Bulldog. She scored her first career goal and the game winner in a 1-0 road victory at Creighton to start the week. Bormann finished with two shots in 46 minutes against the Bluejays. Against UIC, she played 58 minutes and tallied two shots. Bormann is tied for second on the team in points with four behind one goal and a team-leading two assists.
 
In addition to the league’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week selections, several conference players had notable performances, and they include:
