Bracket Set for Next Week's MVC Men's Soccer Championship

ST. LOUIS - Missouri State earned the top seed in the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship last week, but capped off the MVC season at 5-2-1 (16 points) to claim the outright MVC regular-season crown with a 0-0 draw at Drake Saturday evening.  The seven titles rank second in league history, only trailing Creighton's 12 league championships.

Central Arkansas, which finished its conference slate with a 5-3 record (15 points), will be the No. 2 seed and receive the other first-round bye along with Missouri State. Host Bradley earns the No. 3 seed (4-3-1 MVC, 13 points), while Loyola (3-4-1 MVC, 10 points) and Evansville (3-4-1 MVC, 10 points) finished tied for fourth with the Ramblers winning the tiebreaker for the No. 4 seed. Valparaiso (3-5 MVC, 9 points) will be the No. 6 seed and Drake (2-4-2, 8 points) the No. 7 seed.

The Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship will kick off with an opening round match on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Shea Stadium on the campus of Bradley University.

All six matches of the 2017 MVC Men's Soccer Championship, including one opening round match on Tuesday, two quarterfinals on Wednesday, two semifinals on Friday and the championship match on Sunday, will be available for fans to follow via live streaming on The Valley on ESPN3 (espn3.com). Sean Wheelock (play-by-play), Scott Warmann (play-by-play) and Ty Keough (analyst) will call the matches live from Shea Stadium.
